The trampolines are enclosed by a safety mesh which means the students have additional safety features that a more traditional trampoline doesn't have. Additionally, assistance is always on hand should any of the students feel they would like to use any of the equipment.

At Snaresbrook Primary School we know how blessed we are to have such an open green space. Our school field is situated at the back of our school, near our Avon Way entrance. The field is utilised in many ways; daily playtimes, after school clubs and sporting events as well as a resource to support specialist teaching such as orienteering and our O.W.L programme (Outdoor Woodland Learning).
Our favourite use of the field is when we get to open our doors and invite our families in for community events such as a sports day, summer fair or a school concert.

Tuff Trays are used within the school in a number of ways. One of the ways is for sensory play. They are easy to clean and their raised sides contain most of the mess too.
At Newbridge School, Sensory Play is recognised as one of the most important methods of educating our students and it plays a crucial part in their development. Sensory Play includes any activity that will stimulate any one or all of a child’s five senses, “Seeing”, “hearing”, “touch”, “taste” and “smell”.

Tuff Trays are used within the school in a number of ways. One of the ways is for sensory play.
At Newbridge School, Sensory Play is recognised as one of the most important methods of educating our students and it plays a crucial part in their development. Sensory Play includes any activity that will stimulate any one or all of a child’s five senses, “Seeing”, “hearing”, “touch”, “taste” and “smell”.
Research has shown that Sensory Play has many benefits:
• It will help to improve handwriting
• Develops and enhancee memory and problem solving skills
• Helps children to develop their speech
• Improves social interaction and aids children in engaging with their peers

Mathematics is a key skill used by all of our pupils in their daily lives so is therefore at the forefront of our syllabus and is an essential part of the curriculum.
Mathematics is used to describe, analyse and understand our students environments. Whether it be the pleasure of solving a puzzle for the first time, discovering a solution to a problem or noticing hidden connections, mathematics helps develop our pupils awareness of how the world works.
At Newbridge School mathematics is taught in a creative way using 'hands on' techniques which provide a visual and inclusive way to learn numeracy and encourage a pragmatic approach to problem solving ares of mathematics which would otherwise be challenging to our pupils.
Having the necessary tools and teaching materials is essential and our classrooms have everthing required to assist with our pupils education making it as fun and inclusive as possible.
THE MATHS
AREA
Nursery pupils use early math skills within their daily routines through activities which help to make sense of numbers, time, patterns and shapes.
Although maths happens all around the Nursery including in the sand, water, malleable and construction areas, the dedicated maths area offers children an opportunity to practise and consolidate the skills that they have been taught during adult led sessions.
Resources that are used during taught sessions are mirrored in maths area and children are encouraged to recreate previously taught learning and explore shape, measure and number using exciting and stimulating resources.
SENSORY
PLAY
There are 5 fundemental elements of life which the majority of us often take for granted. They are our eyesight, our hearing and the ability to touch, smell and taste.
Each of us will experience them in slightly differing ways and some of our pupils of course suffer additional challenges or certain limitations to one or more sense. We all go through life engaging with the world in large part through our senses. At Newbridge School we use a number of activities used to engage our pupils, many aimed at helping them experiment with the key attributes associated with the five predominant senses. This type of play helps them to grow and develop skills they will use both at home and in educational environments.
Our sensory trays give our pupils a hands-on, safe environment to explore these senses using colourful, fun and exciting materials. Some of the benefits of this type of play are:
• Sensory play builds nerve connections within the developing brain’s neural pathways
• Sensory play supports language development, cognitive growth, motor skills, problem solving skills and social interaction
• Sensory play aids in developing and enhancing memory function
• Sensory play is great for calming an anxious or frustrated pupil
• Sensory play helps children learn vitally important sensory attributes. Is something safe to touch? Is it sticky? Is it cold? Is the item rough or smooth?
The floor projector is used to project colourful, calming and educational videos. The children can lay on the bean bags and relax with the colourful paterns projected around them.

At Newbridge School the health and safety of our pupils is our primary concern and our team implement the planning and delivery of our health services to ensure it is tailored to each of their requirements.
The medical team are multi-skilled registered nurses that work in partnership with parents and carers, education teams and social care providers to enable children to have a safe and comfortable environment to learn in.
The nursing team also provide advice and support to families helping to meet their children’s health care needs. The team are responsible for sign-posting to and referring to specialist services as necessary, sourcing relevant information, liaising with and when appropriate taking the Lead Professional role in conjunction with the family and other health care professionals.
Ensuring Newbridge School offers the best advice and care is of the utmost importance and the medical team take pride in ensuring that the level of care provided is of the highest standards. This level of care gives the pupils the best opportunity to excel within the school environment.
WIRE
SCULPTURES
Our wonderful wire sculptures were created by Year 6 children with the support of local artist Darcy Turner.
Under his instruction, the children learned how to cut, shape and join wire to make wonderful 3D forms. They worked in groups building the various animal parts, eventually joining them together.
Popular children’s books were used as a stimulus to create them and the wire and tin words and phrases which cover the playground library.
OUR TEACHERS USE SMARTBOARDS TO ENSURE LESSONS ARE INTERACTIVE AND TO CAPTIVATE THE PUPILS ATTENTION AND INTEREST.

SMART Notebook software: SMART Notebook sets the standard for creating, delivering and managing interactive lessons within a single application. It puts all of the instructional materials at our fingertips and allows us to save any notes or content that is written during the lesson to share with students later on. The Medical Room is an area where our specialist medical team can care for the health and wellbeing of our students.
The medical team use this area to support children who require specialist asistance. The area can also be used if pupils are feeling unwell.
The nursing team ensure Newbridge School offers the best advice and care and pride themselves level of care provided.
SENSORY ROOM
Our Sensory Room is an extremely important area within our school for a number of reasons. It also happens to be one of the most loved by the pupils.
Sensory rooms have a number of benefits for children with a wide range of learning and behavoural needs. They help to develop the students visual, auditory and tactile processing, as well as fine and gross motor skills. Additionally the sensory room helps to calm and comfort the pupils, assisting them to self-regulate their behaviour.

TERRACE
PLAYGROUND
The terrace is located on the first floor and is direcly connected to Class 11. With safety flooring and equipment to play on it's an area that the children feel both independent and safe.
This space is used for break times, one-on-one exercise and as a general exercise area for the school. There is a trampoline, bicycles and equipment which can be set up in different configurations to create challenging and fun obstacle courses.
The playground is a natural sun trap and is overlooked by trees. Other features include rubber safety flooring which gives the students the added reasurrance whilst out playing in that area.
The equipment is set up to encourage movement, problem solving skills and the area, in general, gives the opportunity for the pupils to socialise with their peers.
